Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.

FairlightUS, the exclusive U.S. distributor of Fairlight digital audio and video technologies, will host a special showcase and training seminar on Fairlight's Crystal Core (CC-1) digital media engine at Comprehensive Technical Group (CTG) in Atlanta on March 14. The demonstrations will cover all areas of recording, editing, ADR, sound design, sound for picture tips and techniques, and the business of professional audio.

FairlightUS and CTG will run four two-hour demonstrations at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The event will be preceded by a sneak preview and cocktail reception at R!OT Atlanta on March 13 at 6 p.m.

Both events are open to audio professionals working in the post-production, broadcast and music recording markets and will be held in close cooperation with CTG, FairlightUS’s distribution and support partner in the Southeastern U.S.

“We welcome audio professionals from all fields, whether they are Fairlight users or not,” explained Steve Rance, president of FairlightUS. “The CC-1 engine represents a quantum leap forward in media processing, versatility and scalability, and it will certainly be worth a look for those who have not already witnessed it at AES. In addition, as FairlightUS is newly formed last month, I am looking forward to meeting our customers and other members of the audio community to learn from them what we need to do to serve them better.”

CTG is located at 2030 Powers Ferry Road, Suite 130. Reservations may be made by calling 404/352-3000 or e-mailing fairlightdemo@ctgatlanta.com.
