Storage Elements, the Mac-centric data storage division of Wenzel Data Inc., a Mac, UNIX, Linux and Windows networking storage company, announced today that CORE is the only comprehensive all-in-one Macintosh data storage server software for digital content creators. Everything from virtualization, provisioning, management, snapshot, striping, backup and archiving capabilities are all included in CORE. Not only does CORE support NAS/SAN and virtualized storage, but it is also capable of archiving to tape without a third party backup package.

CORE for Mac OS X will be available September 2004 priced at $14,955 for virtually unlimited users within the storage network. Versions for Linux and Windows will be released soon after. For more info or a complete list of resellers, see www.storageelements.com.

Targeted at the pre-press, broadcast, computer animation, audio/video, graphics and Internet markets, CORE is the first product in Storage Elements’ line of comprehensive storage servers, which will handle the unique complex storage issues which arise from anyone handling large amounts of data. CORE employs an underlying Pervasive Storage Architecture to expertly solve large storage issues efficiently and at an affordable price, which is important to cost-conscious Macintosh users. CORE will be launched at Macworld in Boston, July 2004.

“If your primary environment is Mac OS X and you have large amounts of data, you are likely to be familiar with the incredible lack of data storage solutions which comprehensively address the unique storage issues which arise from these enterprises,” said Brad Wenzel, president of storage elements, a division of Wenzel Data. “CORE has finally effectively solved this problem for Mac users in one easy-to-use, low-cost package.”
